Manager, Data Operations

About the role

The Manager of Data Operations oversees daily data operations, maintains data pipelines, coordinates ad-hoc data requests, leads a team, implements process improvements, ensures data quality, and collaborates with various teams.

Responsibilities

• Operational Management: Oversee data operations, manage SLAs, and respond to incidents.
• Ad-Hoc Data Support: Coordinate ad-hoc data requests, automate processes, and balance workload.
• Leadership & Team Development: Lead a team, foster collaboration, and promote a culture of ownership.
• Process, Automation & Optimization: Implement tools, drive automation, and enforce standards.
• Data Quality & Governance: Ensure data accuracy, develop documentation, and support audits.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience: 7+ years in data engineering, analytics operations, or related roles; 3+ years leading data teams.
• Skills: Proficiency with SQL, Python, modern data platforms, ETL/ELT tools, BI tools, CI/CD, DevOps, automation concepts.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship and favorable DOD background investigation.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and department software applications.
• Knowledge of healthcare data and cloud-based systems (Azure).
• Experience with SQLServer and Snowflake.

Skills

• SQL, Python, modern data platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), ETL/ELT tools (ADF, Databricks, Snowflake, Airflow), BI tools (Power BI, Tableau), CI/CD, DevOps, data workflow automation.

Benefits

Salary range: $152,000 - $160,000 per year.

Schedule

Non-regular hours as required, on-call rotation for technical support.
