About the role

Known’s Media Science team leverages advanced analytics, machine learning, statistics, and algorithms to plan and optimize advertising spend. As Manager, Data & Media Science, you will lead the data science function for media campaigns, serving as the primary client contact for optimization and data. This role is client-facing with significant project ownership, focusing on communicating insights to executive stakeholders. Seniority is flexible based on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary client point of contact for campaign optimization and data.
  • Deliver meaningful analyses, compelling narratives, and polished presentations to clients.
  • Own analytics, science, and optimization for media campaigns.
  • Collaborate with data analysts and scientists to ensure rigorous measurement, consistent performance, and insightful reporting.
  • Consult with agency and client leadership to establish measurement frameworks, design experiments (A/B, incrementality, geo-testing), and evaluate campaign lift and ROI across channels.
  • Stay current on industry trends in digital media, analytics, and privacy regulations.

Requirements

  • Degree from a well-regarded college or university; Master’s or PhD in a STEM field preferred.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in quantitative analysis, modeling, optimization, and/or statistics.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • 2+ years of experience communicating with senior stakeholders, managing relationships, and presenting technical subjects to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to translate business challenges into quantitative problems and solve them using appropriate methods (e.g., data strategy, statistics, machine learning, algorithms).
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards for analytics quality and accuracy.
  • Experience across multiple media channels, including digital (e.g., social, programmatic) and/or traditional (e.g., linear TV, OOH).
  • Familiarity with major ad serving platforms (e.g., Google Ad Manager, DV360, The Trade Desk).
  • Competence with campaign setup parameters: targeting, audience segmentation, tracking, attribution methodologies (multi-touch, last-click), and key digital metrics (impressions, clicks, conversions, viewability).
  • Experience with analytics and reporting platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics), attribution and measurement systems (e.g., CM360, Videoamp), and deriving actionable insights for optimization.
  • Experience with local marketing or retail media is a plus.

Pay

The base salary for this position is $135,000–$150,000, posted in compliance with state and municipal pay transparency laws. This role is also eligible for additional Known benefits.
