Manager, Cost Accounting

About the role

This role maintains overall responsibility for the cost accounting function, including financial reporting for the manufacturing, quality, and plasma divisions, and the development of product standard costs calculations and manufacturing capacity assumptions.

Responsibilities

• Ensures cost accounting processes, programs, and internal reports are developed, implemented, and effectively administered; supervises Cost Accounting staff.
• Ensures cost accounting processes, programs, and reports align with corporate objectives.
• Works with the senior management team to ensure the cost accounting function supports the company's strategic goals and informational/reporting requirements.
• Seeks approval for cost accounting program, process, and reporting improvements/additions with management.
• Supervises and assesses proper costing and valuation of inventory, monthly inventory reporting, and review of reserve requirements as part of the month-end close.
• Coordinates cost accounting activities to ensure consistent valuation methods.
• Leads the manufacturing budget process and coordinates with manufacturing personnel to establish annual standard costs for all products.
• Adheres to FDA regulations and company policies governing compliance, including required training, documentation, and reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting preferred.
• 5-8 years of progressive experience as a financial analyst, accounting manager, or equivalent.
• Ability to compose reports, follow technical manuals, and communicate effectively in business discussions.
• Proven ability to handle multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
• Understanding of concepts, requirements, process development, and accounting issues for all business areas.
