Description The Construction Services Manager will provide leadership and oversight for TEC's construction materials testing and inspection operations. The position will be responsible for maintaining high-quality service delivery, developing client relationships, managing project and staff resources, and supporting continued growth of the Construction Services group. The ideal candidate is a construction-minded leader who understands field operations, enjoys working with clients, and can effectively balance technical responsibilities with project management and business development. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage TEC's Construction Services team, including project managers, inspectors, field technicians, and laboratory personnel.Oversee construction materials testing and special inspection projects from proposal through completion.Serve as a senior point of contact for clients, contractors, architects, engineers, and public agencies.Monitor project performance, budgets, schedules, staffing, and client satisfaction.Review proposals, scopes of work, project fees, and contracts.Assist with developing new business and expanding relationships with existing clients.Identify opportunities for additional services and cross-disciplinary work with TEC's geotechnical, environmental, building, and other service groups.Ensure testing and inspection activities comply with applicable ASTM, AASHTO, MDOT, project specifications, and other applicable standards.Promote consistent quality-control procedures, accurate documentation, and timely reporting.Support recruitment, training, mentoring, and professional development of Construction Services staff.Coordinate field and laboratory resources to meet project demands.Assist with resolving technical, scheduling, and client-service issues.Maintain awareness of industry trends, construction activity, and opportunities throughout Michigan.Participate in industry organizations, client meetings, preconstruction meetings, and business development activities. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.7+ years of progressively responsible experience in construction materials testing, special inspection, construction management, or a related field.Demonstrated experience managing construction projects, personnel, and client relationships.Strong understanding of construction materials testing and inspection practices.Experience with concrete, soils, aggregate, asphalt, masonry, or structural special inspections preferred.Experience with MDOT projects and/or public-sector construction is highly desirable.ACI, NICET, ICC, AWS, ASNT, MDOT or other relevant certifications are a plus.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites throughout Michigan.
