About the role

We have an immediate need for a Manager, Component Engineering Services & Support in our Cedar Rapids, IA facility or Melbourne, FL facility to lead the Component Engineering (CE) Services team. This team is responsible for creating, modifying, and maintaining all CE component specifications and data tables while ensuring compliance with all Global Trade requirements across Collins. The role often collaborates with key stakeholders in Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Program Management, Procurement, Quality, and other communities to ensure timely release of component specifications. Position is on-site in Cedar Rapids, IA or Melbourne, FL. Relocation assistance will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of experienced professionals.
  • Develop operational plans with direct impact on planning activities and the achievement of results; lead in the development of integration for technical activities.
  • Responsible for implementing product design and changes.
  • Present written reports to senior-level management for review, provide secondary approval for expenditures, enforce company policies, and make decisions about the purchase of materials and services based on spending requirements.
  • Advise engineers on technical support for a variety of tasks.
  • Implement business and strategic planning processes.
  • Responsible for implementing short- and long-term organization goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvements within the component specification process to improve first-pass yield completions.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
  • 5+ years of experience drafting and maintaining engineering documentation.
  • 3+ years of experience interpreting engineering drawings and vendor data sheets.

  • Working familiarity with Collins Component Engineering processes.
  • Prior experience leading a team of professionals.
  • Demonstrated success working as part of a cross-functional team in a matrixed environment.
  • Experience with analyzing data.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Pay

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good-faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
