About the Role

The Commodity and Sourcing Manager, Aftermarket will negotiate and manage supplier contracts in conjunction with our Global Sourcing Team to achieve cost savings and enhance supplier performance while managing cross-functional teams and building collaborative relationships. This role leads Aftermarket key global and regional vendors, setting objectives and working with others to execute and implement supply chain strategy aligned with Product Managers, Business, and Engineers. Responsibilities include developing and improving commodity management and sourcing processes to enhance price, quality, timing, and reliability of Carrier outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive category strategy for Aftermarket parts, aligned with the organization's overall procurement and business objectives.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify new opportunities, potential risks, and emerging trends within the Aftermarket HVAC industry.
  • Lead supplier identification, evaluation, selection, and relationship management activities.
  • Establish and maintain strong partnerships with key suppliers to ensure the highest quality, competitive pricing, and timely delivery of steel raw materials, components, and products.
  • Negotiate favorable terms, conditions, and pricing with suppliers. Draft and manage contracts and agreements to protect the organization's interests while promoting mutually beneficial partnerships in a cross-functional sourcing environment.
  • Implement cost reduction initiatives and continuously monitor market dynamics to capitalize on cost-saving opportunities within the Aftermarket parts HVAC category without compromising quality.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Planning, WHQ Supply Chain, Engineering, Product Development, and Operations, to understand their requirements and ensure alignment between procurement and business objectives.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for suppliers, evaluate their performance regularly, and work collaboratively to address any performance issues.
  • Build and lead Aftermarket key global vendors on a high-performing cross-functional team of procurement professionals. Provide guidance, strategy, and influence others.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 7+ years’ experience in Supply Chain, Commodity Management, or Strategic Sourcing.
  • 20% travel in North America.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Aftermarket or Resale Strategic Sourcing within a global manufacturing organization.
  • Experience in managing commodities such as Compressors, Motors, Valves, Coils, and Heat Exchangers.
  • Experience with creating and leading large, strategic projects with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with deep knowledge in MS Excel.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (preferably SAP) and the usage of Power BI tools.
  • Demonstrated track record of driving significant cost savings through strategic sourcing initiatives, supplier optimization, and contract negotiation.
  • Strong analytical and market research skills, with the ability to identify and capitalize on market opportunities while mitigating supply chain risks.
  • Presentation skills, able to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Pay

The annual salary for this position is between $96,000.00 and $192,000.00. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
