Manager (Commercial Due Diligence)

Work directly with leading private equity firms, growth investors, and Fortune 500 executives on high-stakes strategic and transaction decisions. Lead high-impact engagements with real ownership. Gain broad exposure across industries, transaction types, and growth challenges in a model designed to accelerate commercial judgment and leadership development.
Responsibilities
- Manage and deliver commercial due diligence engagements for corporate and private-equity-backed transactions
- Analyze markets, customers, competitors, pricing, and go-to-market strategies to assess commercial risk and opportunity
- Conduct market sizing, growth forecasting, customer segmentation, and demand analyses
- Develop clear, concise, and investment-committee-ready findings summarizing key risks and value drivers
- Draft and review diligence reports, executive summaries, and presentation materials
- Serve as a primary engagement manager, overseeing scope, timelines, and client expectations
- Collaborate with Financial Due Diligence, Value Creation, IT, and Human Capital teams to deliver integrated transaction insights
- Support proposal development and business development activities
- Coach and mentor senior associates and associates; contribute to performance feedback and team development
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, Finance, Strategy, or a related field
- Typically, 5–8+ years of experience in commercial due diligence, strategy consulting, transaction advisory, or private equity-related roles
- Experience supporting M&A or private equity transactions
- Strong analytical skills across market sizing, customer analysis, and competitive dynamics
- Ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights
- Excellent written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, transaction-oriented environment
Qualifications
- Preferred: Experience working directly with private equity clients, consulting or professional services background, MBA or other advanced degree

Pay
This role offers competitive compensation, including a base salary range of $190,000–$225,000, plus a target annual bonus. Grant Thornton Stax follows a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy, base salary is commensurate with experience, and total cash compensation may vary based on individual and firm performance.
Schedule
Consistent with the firm’s hybrid work model, this position requires in-person attendance three days per week at a firm office or client site.
