Manager, Clinical Research - Department of Ophthalmology

About the role

The Clinical Research Manager oversees the clinical research portfolio for an assigned unit, managing clinical research coordinators and ensuring the integrity of study operations. Responsibilities include participant screening, enrollment, and retention, maintaining data quality, staff training, and protocol implementation under the direction of principal investigators.

Responsibilities

• Manages daily operations within the unit’s clinical research programs, including organizing activities, establishing timelines, and tracking site progress on clinical trial protocols.
• Oversees regulatory document submission and ensures compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Good Clinical Practices.
• Supervises, recruits, evaluates, leads, coaches, mentors, and trains Clinical Research Coordinators I, II, and III.
• Develops site SOPs and recommends process improvements within the unit/department.
• Manages resources to accomplish specified goals and objectives for assigned Clinical Research areas.
• Acts as the primary site representative for communication with sponsors, vendors, patients, and principal investigators.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience per Florida Senate Bill 1310 (up to 4 years of direct experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree).
• 5+ years of experience in a related field.
• Must meet all employment eligibility requirements in the U.S.
• Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration.

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
