Manager, Business Planning Section

About the role

The Manager, Business Planning leads business planning, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and CAPEX management to support informed decision-making for the OTSM Project. The role provides strategic insights on business performance, collaborates with cross-functional teams, and ensures compliance with corporate governance and financial controls.

Work Location: Samalaju Plant (OTSM Sdn Bhd)

Responsibilities

• Lead business planning, strategic analysis, and feasibility studies.
• Evaluate business performance and market trends, providing recommendations to senior management.
• Oversee management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and CAPEX governance.
• Advise management on cost optimization, resource allocation, and financial planning.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, financial controls, and approval limits.
• Collaborate across functions to support corporate initiatives.
• Coach and guide team members as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or related discipline.
• 6–10 years’ relevant experience in business planning, corporate finance, or similar roles; experience in manufacturing or heavy industry preferred, with at least 3 years of experience in a managerial role.
• Strong financial modelling, budgeting and forecasting skills; proven ability to prepare and present executive-level materials.
• Experience managing CAPEX governance and capital project evaluations.
• Proven leadership experience, with ability to coach and develop team members and to work collaboratively across functions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite; experience with ERP and planning systems is desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to influence stakeholders and present complex information clearly.
