Manager Branch II
About the role
Responsible for managing a portfolio of personal and business clients and holding responsibility for the overall success of the branch. As a leader and coach, the Branch Manager will enable their direct reports to succeed in their roles, providing regular coaching and ensuring the branch maintains high standards for risk and compliance. The role contributes to market and regional strategy while assisting clients to meet their financial needs through sound financial advice and acting as a trusted strategic advisor.
Responsible for all functions of the assigned branch, with emphasis on managing a client-driven sales and service environment. This includes active calling efforts, referrals from existing clients, providing exemplary service, identifying and promoting solutions to client needs, and embracing the Bank's segmentation strategy by referring new business to the appropriate segment or business partner.
Plans, controls, and directs the activities of branch personnel towards attainment of branch goals, including sales, client service, and proper credit quality and risk management. Ensures all positions are fully functional and colleagues are aware of their roles and responsibilities while working to retain and develop talent.
Key measures of success include acquisition of new personal and small business clients, deposit and fee income growth, loan and line volume (including CRA-eligible fundings), excellent risk management, and qualitative activities such as sales, networking, and community presence that generate business volumes.
Must be in good standing under "The Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008" (SAFE Act) and registered/licensed with the "Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry," or must be able to be registered under the SAFE Act.
Responsibilities
- People leadership and talent development – coach team to deliver meaningful client interactions and identify development and growth opportunities; fulfill day-to-day people management responsibilities (e.g., recruitment, general support, training).
- Acquire and deepen client relationships – generate new client relationships and deepen existing ones; provide senior support and act as a role model to foster a proactive business development culture.
- Business and risk management – stay updated on CNB’s policies and procedures and train branch staff to ensure adherence; foster a strong sales environment while balancing compliance.
- Balancing priorities – coach team to price business and collect fees, maintaining a balance of sales results, client profitability, and relationship building; address risk and compliance gaps.
- Partnering with a collaborative mindset – meet client needs by introducing them to the right partner in the CNB ecosystem; champion the Global Relationship Management (GRM) approach and maintain strong relationships with key branch clients.
- Deliver an exceptional and consistent client experience – ensure client needs are met, escalations are resolved appropriately, and consistent delivery centered on key client needs.
- Improve sales and banking acumen – continuously develop stronger banking acumen and sales practices through collaboration with subject-matter experts, internal training, and required job family curriculum.
- Comply fully with all Bank Operational and Credit policies and procedures as well as all regulatory requirements (e.g., Bank Secrecy Act, Know Your Client, Community Reinvestment Act, Fair Lending Practices, Code of Conduct).
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Minimum 5 years of branch management or supervisory experience in a branch environment.
- Minimum 5 years of experience performing lending and business development activities.
- Must be in good standing under “The Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008” (SAFE Act) or must be able to be registered under the SAFE Act.
- Must be registered/licensed with the “Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry.”
Qualifications
- Banking products for personal and small business clients – deep knowledge of CNB’s offerings.
- Regulatory and compliance – superior understanding of the regulatory environment CNB operates in to manage risk and ensure compliance.
- Economic environment – ability to articulate and demonstrate an understanding of the economic environment and its impact on clients.
- CNB policies and procedures – strong knowledge of CNB’s policies, procedures, and regulatory obligations across product offerings; strong understanding of servicing processes.
- Personal and small business financials – reviewing financial statements and tax returns of both individuals and businesses to advise clients and support branch colleagues.
- Expertise in Salesforce CRM, including managing sales team to Salesforce utilization expectations.
- General software skills – ability to navigate Microsoft Office and other key tools.

Pay
Starting base salary: $87,027 - $138,965 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
