Manager, Billing & Audit (KH) - USC Care Medical Group CBO - Full Time 8 Hour Days (Exempt) (Non-Union)

About the role

The Billing Manager will oversee all aspects of commercial and governmental billing, requiring in-depth knowledge of National Uniform Billing Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervises all subordinate staff.
• Schedules, assigns, and prioritizes workloads.
• Evaluates employee performance, provides guidance and feedback.
• Counsels, disciplines, and/or terminates employees as required.
• Sets appropriate deadlines.
• Maintains insurance billing current within the established time frame specified in department policy.
• Ensures timely completion of department's work.
• Analyzes reports to prioritize activity in the monthly collections process.
• Maintains knowledge of University's crime prevention and suppression programs and services.
• Coordinates security activities with University Public Safety Department.
• Ensures dissemination of security related information to staff.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 5 years minimum experience in a Supervisory role.
• Experience in medical billing, coding, collections.
• Working knowledge of computer billing systems (IDX), CPT-4 & ICD-9CM coding.
• Insurance & medical terminology.
• Laws governing collection efforts.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
