Manager, Assurance Services - Construction
Major Responsibilities
- Lead assurance engagements for construction clients, including general contractors, subcontractors, and homebuilders.
- Provide guidance on construction accounting topics such as percentage-of-completion, job costing, change orders, retainage, and WIP reporting.
- Review financial statements, audit workpapers, and internal controls to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and professional standards.
- Manage engagement budgets, timelines, and team performance to deliver quality client service.
- Build trusted client relationships and provide strategic business and financial insights.
- Mentor and develop staff while fostering technical excellence.
- Identify opportunities to expand client services through cross-functional collaboration.
Preferred Experience/Background/Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required.
- Active CPA license required.
- 5+ years of public accounting experience with a strong focus on the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, AICPA auditing standards, and construction accounting practices, including percentage-of-completion, job costing, retainage, change orders, and WIP schedules.
- Experience leading audit engagements, managing teams, and overseeing multiple client projects.
- Excellent client relationship, communication, and project management skills.
- Proficiency with audit software and Microsoft Office.
Working Conditions
- Typical office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
- Ability to work extra hours as determined by workload and client expectations.
- Travel may range from minimal to monthly.
- Hybrid model (2-3 days per week in office / at a client).
- Sit for long periods of time.
- Moves throughout office.
- Lifts, carries, pushes, pulls up to 30-50 pounds.
