Manager, Analytical Quality Control Lab

Brief Overview

The Analytical QC Lab Manager oversees the analytical quality control laboratory, ensuring accurate, reliable, and timely test results in compliance with GLPs and company standards. This role involves strategic and operational oversight, team leadership, and cross-functional collaboration.

What You Will Do

• Supervise laboratory chemists and technicians, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and SOPs.
• Ensure compliance with GLPs and proper testing procedures.
• Supervise the flow of samples through the lab and oversee documentation.
• Review and release laboratory results for accuracy and completeness, ensuring they meet client specifications and internal standards.
• Plan and organize staffing schedules based on laboratory test volumes.
• Provide training and development for new and existing laboratory personnel.
• Conduct performance evaluations, provide regular feedback, and manage coaching and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Participate in recruitment and hiring processes for laboratory staff.
• Oversee all Analytical testing requirements for bulk, finished goods, and raw materials, ensuring that testing follows established protocols and timelines.
• Maintain records of training, test results, and other essential documentation in compliance with laboratory standards.
• Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to laboratory safety protocols.
• Coordinate with the Quality Manager for performance reviews and other administrative tasks.

Education Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related science field.
• Other science disciplines or equivalent laboratory experience may be considered.

Experience Qualifications

• 7-9 years of relevant experience in chemistry or laboratory management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity.

• Managerial, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and GLPs.
• Proficient in microbiological testing, media production, and sample management.
• Communication skills for both internal staff and client interaction.
• Able to assess technician qualifications, perform performance evaluations, and manage schedules effectively.
• Microbiological testing procedures.
• Root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
• Laboratory quality control processes and documentation management.
• Staff supervision and development.
• Media production and microbiology laboratory equipment (training will be provided).
