Manager, Agentic Commerce – Product Management
About the role
The Global Merchant and Network Services (GMNS) Product team powers billions of transactions annually through American Express’s global payments network, serving Issuing & Acquiring partners in over 170 markets. The team drives revenue by delivering differentiated value to merchants, partners, and customers through proprietary and third-party capabilities, enabling secure and seamless transactions.
The Agentic Commerce Solutions team defines and enables the future of Agentic Commerce across the Amex Global Network, focusing on AI-driven agents, digital wallets, and automated commerce experiences. This role will own product delivery within the Agentic Commerce portfolio, partnering across Technology and cross-functional teams to execute roadmap initiatives and evolve Agentic Commerce capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Own the execution and delivery of assigned Agentic Commerce product features (e.g., tokenization, identity, intent capture) with thorough collaboration and documentation.
- Use customer insights, market trends, and data to recommend product enhancements and prioritize investments.
- Translate product strategy into detailed requirements, user stories, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria.
- Drive cross-functional alignment across Risk, Strategy, GTM, Architecture, Operations, Legal, and Compliance to deliver scalable product solutions.
- Partner closely with Technology to prioritize work, remove delivery blockers, and ensure successful execution against milestones.
- Communicate product status, risks, dependencies, and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.
- Define success metrics, monitor product performance, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Support governance activities and represent the product team in internal and external working groups as appropriate.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in product management within payments or digital commerce, with exposure to tokenization, authentication, or digital wallets.
- Foundational understanding of payments ecosystems, APIs, and/or digital commerce platforms.
- Experience translating business requirements into product or technical specifications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, matrixed environment.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to clearly document requirements and insights.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
- Interest in evolving industry standards and protocols (e.g., EMVCo, agentic commerce frameworks).
- Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States (visa sponsorship is not available for this position).
