About the role
The Manager of Accounts Payable (AP) role at OCHIN is a critical part of the finance team, overseeing the Accounts Payable function to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, credit memos, payments, and journal entries. This role also involves coordination of accruals, communication with the General Ledger team, monitoring cash flows, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies and improve vendor relationships.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the Accounts Payable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, credit memos, payments, and journal entries.
- Ensure completeness of AP subledger by reviewing reconciliations to vendor statements.
- Maintain healthy financial status by monitoring cashflows and optimizing payment processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies and improve vendor relationships.
- Assist in preparation for, and conducting of, annual financial statement audit.
- Address vendor inquiry responses promptly and professionally.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to recommend improvements to the finance department.
- Contribute ideas to improve processes, create efficiencies, reduce costs, and streamline overall workflow.
- Participate in Turning Points to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance the efficiency of financial operations.
- Ensure team’s adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Support the implementation of new or updated improvement initiatives within the department.
- Embody the organization’s culture of service by demonstrating exceptional customer service for internal and external customers and engaging in on-going learning opportunities.
- Safeguarding intellectual property and confidentiality by contributing including but not limited to disaster recovery and back-up procedures where applicable.
- Advocate in the best interest of the team, our members, and for the organization.
- Communicate and share information to relevant parties regarding team (decisions, outcomes, accomplishments, performance, learnings, best practices, etc.).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
- Preferred certifications: CPA, but not required.
- Minimum five (5) years of progressive growth in accounting - 8 or more years preferred.
- Experience in healthcare/healthcare IT preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of REMOTE supervisor/manager experience or Leadership roles within technical teams.
- Experience working in/with Non-Profit organizations, Grants is preferred.
- Minimum 3-years of working experience with NetSuite ERP is required (5 or more years is preferred).
- Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles is required.
- Exceptional organizational, attention to detail, and time management skills.
- Strong problem solving, collaboration, and customer service skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and prioritize.
- Intermediate spreadsheet knowledge is required.
- Knowledge of Internet browsers and related search tools.

- Base Pay Overview: OCHIN uses broadened pay ranges to support equitable and market-aligned compensation practices. The final offer will be based on a variety of factors, including relevant skills, certifications, education, experience, training, responsibilities, internal equity, and market data.
- Physical Requirements/Work Environment: Constant interpersonal skills, teamwork, and customer service. Frequent creativity, mentoring, presentations/teaching. Occasional decision making and independent judgment or action. Reading, speaking, writing, and understanding English. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms. This position requires a virtual home-office environment, working remotely and will require that employees be on camera for all virtual meetings. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and mobile devices. Travel is required to support OCHIN’s business requirements for Go-Live installations or training which may require travel by air, vehicle, or train.

Work from home requirements are: Ability to work independently and efficiently from a home office environment High Speed Internet Service. It is a requirement that employees work in a distraction free workplace. Travel may be required to support our member organizations on-site based on business requirements for OCHIN.
