Management Trainer
About the role
The Leadership Trainer plays a crucial role in planning, developing, coordinating, evaluating, and administering leadership and professional development training programs for NYCHA employees. They are responsible for delivering training sessions on various topics, assessing training needs, and collaborating with other departments to ensure training meets the organization's needs.
Responsibilities
- Deliver leadership training & professional development programs that align with organizational goals.
- Design and write training manuals and materials, including trainer’s guides in collaboration with an instructional design team.
- Facilitate engaging and interactive training sessions on topics such as leadership development, team building, conflict resolution, and self-care/community care.
- Assess training needs and create customized training solutions for NYCHA employees (e.g., creating and distributing surveys and/or conducting focus groups).
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback and performance metrics.
- Provide coaching and support to leaders at all levels within the organization.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure training programs meet the needs of the organization.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in leadership development.
- Schedule training classes using a Learning Management System (Cornerstone).
- Lead or support special projects as necessary.
Requirements
This position requires a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, accredited by regional, national, professional or specialized agencies recognized as accrediting bodies by the U. S. Secretary of Education and by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), or a combination of education and experience as outlined in the minimum qualifications. Candidates must have a minimum of two years of broad administrative or policy-making experience with responsibilities as described in the minimum qualifications. Experience in a broad administrative or policy-making capacity with responsibility for planning, organizing, coordinating, developing, evaluating and/or administering a large community service program or activity is preferred. Additionally, candidates must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Qualifications

- Experience in a broad administrative or policy-making capacity with responsibilities as described in the minimum qualifications.
- Strong understanding of leadership theories and practices and prior experience teaching adult learners.
- Instructional Designer experience designing and/or informing the design of training content that is engaging, accessible, and compliant with industry standards.
