Management Trainee

About the role

The Manager in Training (MIT) role at Acme Barricades is designed to provide hands-on experience and foundational knowledge to individuals aspiring to become future leaders within the organization. This role involves assisting with various aspects of branch operations, from coordinating logistics to managing staff and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Aids in coordinating all branch operations, utilizing all available physical resources.
• Maintains upkeep and condition of all equipment, plants, and fixtures.
• Liaises with suppliers, merchandisers, and other partners to ensure smooth operations.
• Recruits, trains, and develops staff members.
• Maintains an understanding of competitor activities, pricing strategies, and market trends.
• Contributes to company strategy and policy-making.
• Manages customer service activities and ensures staff competence in these areas.
• Monitors and manages costs and overheads to ensure the profitable performance of the branch.
• Maintains safety requirements and provides necessary paperwork to corporate headquarters.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
• Computer skills in Excel, Word, etc.
• Minimum of 3 years in assistant management of a service, warehouse, or construction branch.
• Ability to take initiative, own tasks, and be flexible regarding changing priorities.
• Experience assessing and preparing documentation related to operational processes.
• Strategic thinking ability to address workflow issues and opportunities.
• Strong communication, time management, and presentation skills.
• Physical strength to handle repetitive tasks such as driving, lifting, and operating machinery.
• Visual and auditory acuity to navigate construction sites and follow safety protocols.
• Valid driver’s license required, with the ability to pass MVR and controlled substance tests, undergo background and criminal record checks, and adhere to company standards post-employment.
