About the Role
This entry-level leadership position offers an opportunity to learn the basics of Empirical's business processes and procedures, with the potential to join the leadership team within 9-24 months. The role is designed to immerse you in core business processes, providing strategic learning opportunities relevant to long-term roles within the company. You will gradually increase your responsibilities, working with various groups and assignments to develop technical and social skills for future leadership positions.
Responsibilities
- Become immersed in learning key manufacturing processes and programs.
- Engage in activities to develop skills for relief supervision, support preventative maintenance programs, and participate in start-up teams.
- Assist in troubleshooting activities.
- Become proficient in quality assurance roles, including new product development, process improvement, and raw material monitoring.
- Participate with company leadership to sustain and enhance production or distribution capacity.
- Support plant safety initiatives to improve safety and regulatory program effectiveness.
- Develop, improve, and present technical information to educate employees and promote best practices.
- Perform special projects and other responsibilities as needed.
- Positively influence a culture of technical development and critical thinking.
Requirements
- Open to relocating to any Empirical plant upon completion of the program.
- Ability to work any shift, including 2nd and 3rd shifts, during and after the program.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends.
- Ability to travel to other locations as needed.
- Physical ability to walk, stand, twist, reach, bend, climb, and lift up to 60 lbs.
Qualifications
- Completion of a relevant degree (Chemical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering, Food or Animal Science, Agriculture, or related disciplines) before starting the job.
- Previous internship or co-op experience with the company is preferred.
- Student-related organizational leadership roles or other leadership experience is preferred.

- Strong proficiency in computer use, particularly Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
