Position Summary

The Management Trainee is a training position for future development into roles with Akers Packaging Service Group. The position involves rotating through various functional areas including Production, Quality & Safety, Shipping, Design, Customer Service, Sales, Accounting, and People.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Willingness to work in all functional areas during the rotation
  • Work in collaboration with the President and functional leads to gain required knowledge
  • Follow expectations and responsibilities outlined by the functional lead and in the training document
  • Participation in industry training events and self-led courses
  • Gain general understanding of machine types, limitations, procedures, and processes
  • Communicate clearly across disciplines (sales, shipping, design, production, quality & safety, accounting, and administration)
  • Understand our sales pipeline, review cost estimating, and understand pricing process
  • Gain general understanding of the cash flow cycle, purchase order process, and invoicing
  • Understand the importance of accuracy, measures of effectiveness, workflow, and quality as it relates to customer service
  • Work in excess of 40 hours as business needs arise
  • Regular and reliable attendance
  • Perform any other task or duty deemed necessary by management

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience: Associate degree, bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in IT support
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining data security

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Proficiency in KIWI, HRMS, ADP, and other relevant software applications
  • Genuine, positive, and friendly disposition
