Key Accountabilities

  • Cost Allocation and Chargeback Management
  • Support the annual budgeting and forecasting processes for technology services.
  • Monitor technology expenditure against budgets, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, standards, and regulations.
  • Vendor Metrics and Performance Monitoring
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs) for all technology vendors.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and scorecards to assess vendor delivery against contractual obligations.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement through data-driven analysis.
  • Partner with vendors to drive continuous improvement and innovation in service delivery.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting
  • Provide detailed cost reports and dashboards to stakeholders, offering insights into spending patterns.
  • Analyse cost data to identify trends, inefficiencies, or opportunities for optimisation.
  • Prepare financial summaries for leadership, including chargeback reports and recommendations.

Critical Interfaces (WHO DO You work With)

  • Interfacing Role (Who you work with): Finance Teams, IT Service Teams, Business Unit Leaders, Procurement Teams, Vendors and Service Providers, Auditors
  • Nature of Interface (What you work on): Align technology costs with financial reporting standards and organizational budgets, Understand service delivery costs and ensure accurate chargeback calculations, Explain cost allocations, resolve disputes, and identify cost-saving opportunities, Coordinate on vendor contracts and technology purchasing decisions, Manage invoices, track costs, and negotiate contracts, Support internal and external audits with accurate and comprehensive cost data
  • Experience and Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
    • Extensive experience in financial management, cost accounting, or chargeback processes, preferably within a technology or IT services environment.
    • Demonstrated expertise in managing cost allocation and chargeback models in complex organizational settings.
    • Familiarity with Technology financial management frameworks such as Technology Business Management (TBM).
    • Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.
    • Experience working with financial tools and enterprise systems, such as SAP, Oracle, or other ERP platforms.
    • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI) to create financial dashboards and insights.
    • Understanding of IT service management frameworks, such as ITIL, and their financial implications.
    • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, finance, and business units.

    • Line management responsibility, providing clear direction, coaching, performance development, and support to colleagues in line with organizational policies and values.
    • Ability to translate financial and operational goals into actionable cost allocation and optimization strategies, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
    • Capable of guiding cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders across IT, finance, and business units.
    • Deep understanding of cost allocation principles, budgeting processes, chargeback methodologies, and financial governance.
    • Adept at interpreting financial data, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights to drive cost optimization and efficiency.
    • High capability to explain complex financial concepts clearly, resolve disputes, and build consensus among diverse stakeholders.
    • Technical proficiency, including expertise in SAP, Hyperion and other financial systems, along with use in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Access, Power BI, )
    • Detail-oriented and compliance-focused, ensuring all financial processes meet regulatory requirements and support audit readiness.
    • Results-oriented approach, focused on continuous improvement, automating processes, and delivering measurable impact on cost management and financial transparency.
