About the role

The Managed Identity Services Engineer I will support production customers by monitoring solution health and responding to support requests. You will work within a support queue via assigned tickets, focusing on troubleshooting errors by reviewing event logs and workflow logic, or determining why a customer solution is not functioning as intended. Managed Identity Services Engineers maintain constant communication with customers in accordance with Fischer’s service level agreements.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Identify and recommend areas of process improvement to gain operational efficiencies and improve the overall customer experience.
  • Stay self-motivated, review internal processes, and enhance product and solution knowledge as well as IAM industry trends.
  • Work in a high-impact, high-intensity environment while staying focused and organized.
  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-grade identity & access management (IAM) solutions for customers.
  • Gather granular technical requirements from customer stakeholders and translate them into configured solutions within the Fischer Identity Suite.
  • Design hierarchical security policies (RBAC, ABAC) based on customer-defined provisioning and de-provisioning policy requirements.
  • Design and implement GRC solutions including PCI, SOX, HIPAA, and FERPA compliant solutions.
  • Design and implement re-certification processes for customers to attest/remediate access annually.
  • Build end-to-end enterprise-grade IAM solutions including auto-event detection, workflow, self-service initiated access requests, help desk configurations, governance, and downstream target system automation (provisioning/de-provisioning and access management).
  • Design proper error handling methods into solutions to limit incident ticket creation and help desk intervention for on-premise and cloud-based deployments.
  • Install the Fischer Identity Suite, including configuring prerequisites on customer servers.
  • Meet tight customer deadlines while delivering robust, intelligent IAM solutions.
  • Consult customers on best practices for IAM and work with them to define/refine business processes.
  • Implement password management and single sign-on solutions including SSO, Federation, and ADFS.
  • Analyze customer requirements and provide effort estimates to ensure customer expectations are properly set regarding project timing and cost.
  • Create solution documentation for customer solutions.
  • Provide level 3 assistance to the Support group during active go-lives, potentially at any time (24/7).
  • Support integrator partners in solution design and travel onsite to client meetings.

Requirements

  • Understand automation and its impact on business processes.

  • SQL knowledge, specifically:
    • Construct queries to efficiently export data for reporting and processing.

  • Understand Identity Management, its purpose, and its business impact.
  • Understand end-user password resets, user experience, and enterprise software deployments.
  • Communicate technical nomenclature to business stakeholders.
  • JavaScript experience and data validation techniques.
  • Understand LDAP filtering and syntax.
  • Understand groups and object orientation.
  • Understand RBAC, ABAC, and other formalized Identity Governance & Administration protocols.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Two years’ experience deploying Fischer Identity Suite or equivalent Identity Management technology.

Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Fischer Identity product suite and capabilities.
  • Automation experience with Active Directory, LDAP, Google Apps, MSSQL, Oracle Database, PostgreSQL, and batch processing via flat file.
  • Understanding of automated event detection techniques and technical mechanics of application integration/APIs.
  • Experience deploying or supporting enterprise Identity Management Solutions.
  • Experience in security discipline, including NIST and other control frameworks.
  • Experience with ETL technology.
  • Expertise in JavaScript.
  • Experience with Regular Expressions.
  • Critical thinking, complex problem-solving, and strong analytical capabilities.
  • Self-motivated with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced, occasionally stressful environment.

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM with a 1-hour lunch break, or other typical office hours approved by the manager. Additional hours may be necessary to perform duties.
