About the role
This per diem Mammography Technologist role involves performing and assisting with breast imaging procedures to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment.
Responsibilities
- Independently conduct mammography exams, including screening, diagnostic, ultrasounds, wire localizations, biopsies, and clip placements, following established protocols and standards.
- Verify patient identity and procedure details, providing clear instructions to ensure patient comfort and safety.
- Ensure proper imaging techniques, equipment settings, and safety protocols are followed.
- Perform quality control on imaging equipment and maintain a safe, clean work environment.
- Coordinate with healthcare teams to facilitate patient care and assist in training students or entry-level technologists.
- Maintain supplies and participate in ongoing education and training.
Qualifications & Skills
- Associate degree in Radiology or related field.
- ARRT-certified in Radiologic Technology and Mammography.
- State license or license eligibility in radiologic technology.
- Minimum of four years of mammography experience.
- Basic Life Support certification.
Physical & Safety Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, lifting up to 35 lbs, manual dexterity, and attentiveness to safety protocols, including exposure to bodily fluids.
