Mammography Technologist - Per Diem

About the Role

This position involves performing and assisting with breast imaging procedures to aid in diagnosis and treatment.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate physical conditions and conduct screening and diagnostic mammograms, ultrasounds, wire localizations, stereotactic and ultrasound-guided biopsies, and clip placements
  • Ensure patient safety and verify imaging protocols
  • Maintain equipment quality and collaborate with healthcare teams
  • Train staff and students, manage supplies, and uphold safety and cleanliness standards
  • Perform mammography exams independently following standards
  • Verify patient information and procedures
  • Provide clear instructions to patients
  • Ensure correct imaging protocols and safety measures
  • Participate in ongoing training and equipment quality control
  • Coordinate patient care with staff and departments
  • Maintain work areas and supply inventory
  • Train and educate students and staff

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Radiology or related field
  • Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification
  • Mammography Technologist (ARRT) certification
  • State license or license eligibility
  • Minimum four years of mammography experience
  • Basic Life Support certification

Preferred Skills

  • X-ray experience

Physical & Safety Requirements

  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and lifting up to 35 lbs
  • Manual dexterity for operating equipment
  • Sufficient hearing and vision to perform examinations and monitor equipment
  • Exposure to bodily fluids and communicable diseases
