About the Role
This position involves performing and assisting with breast imaging procedures to aid in diagnosis and treatment.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate physical conditions and conduct screening and diagnostic mammograms, ultrasounds, wire localizations, stereotactic and ultrasound-guided biopsies, and clip placements
- Ensure patient safety and verify imaging protocols
- Maintain equipment quality and collaborate with healthcare teams
- Train staff and students, manage supplies, and uphold safety and cleanliness standards
- Perform mammography exams independently following standards
- Verify patient information and procedures
- Provide clear instructions to patients
- Ensure correct imaging protocols and safety measures
- Participate in ongoing training and equipment quality control
- Coordinate patient care with staff and departments
- Maintain work areas and supply inventory
- Train and educate students and staff
Requirements
- Associate degree in Radiology or related field
- Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification
- Mammography Technologist (ARRT) certification
- State license or license eligibility
- Minimum four years of mammography experience
- Basic Life Support certification
Preferred Skills
- X-ray experience
Physical & Safety Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and lifting up to 35 lbs
- Manual dexterity for operating equipment
- Sufficient hearing and vision to perform examinations and monitor equipment
- Exposure to bodily fluids and communicable diseases
