Responsibilities

• Charges appropriately for all supplies used for procedure and utilizes appropriate exam codes.
• Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). Analyzes images and identifies issues with the quality of images. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure if clinically appropriate.
• Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
• Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
• Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment, and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.

Requirements

• Accredited Program: Radiology (Required)
• ARRT – American Registry of Radiology Tech (ARRT)
• BLS American Heart E-Card (BLS AHA ECARD) – American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
• BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard (BLS AHA) – American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
• BLS Certification Grace (BLS GRACE) – Employee Grace Period for Essential Credential (GRACE)
• BLS Cert Red Cross (BLS RC) – Red Cross (RED CROSS)
• Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT LICENSE) – State of Florida (FL)
• Registered as a Technologist (RT) and registered in mammography (M) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

Qualifications

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

One (1) year of technologist experience in a healthcare setting.
