Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Ensures patients are correctly identified and their files accurately labeled. Tracks patients according to department procedures and identifies and corrects errors promptly. Effectively communicates with patients to gather clinical history and informed consent, explaining the procedure and addressing any concerns to ensure patient cooperation.
- Radiation Safety: Demonstrates effective use of radiation protection, maintains exposure readings within ALARA limits, and modifies technical factors to control radiation dose according to ACR guidelines. Reports and corrects any adverse or unusual conditions.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintains an orderly and safe working environment, stocks rooms with necessary supplies, and troubleshoots equipment issues promptly. Performs daily calibration and adjustments as required.
- Other Duties: Acts as a backup for other technologists in the department and completes additional tasks within specified timeframes.
Qualifications
- Experience: None required
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program
- Training: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program
- Skills: Good interpersonal and communication skills, teamwork, critical thinking, and organizational skills
- Licenses: Current State License, American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Registry Eligible
