Responsibilities

  • Review mammography requisition and computer exam forms to determine the type of exam required.
  • Accurately position patients, determine the exposure factors, and operate mammography equipment according to established procedures to obtain a high-quality image.
  • Review processed images to determine quality and the need for additional images.
  • Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and the exam to ensure understanding and cooperation.
  • Ensure patients' safety and comfort during and after the exam.
  • Acquire, archive, transmit, and print images via CAD and PACS.
  • Complete after-hours transmission of images and appropriate paperwork.
  • Report any malfunctions to help desk and PACS Administrator.
  • Process billing via RIS.
  • Assist with all policies and procedures required by local, state, and federal law, and with compliance or credentialing bodies (ACR, MQSA, Medicare, Medicaid, FDA, etc.).
  • Absorb and report any malfunctions to help desk and PACS Administrator.
  • Perform equipment checks to assure proper function of and notify clinical engineering of any equipment malfunctions.
  • Ensure exam rooms are adequately supplied with linen and related medical supplies.
  • Provide teaching and mentoring to new hires and students.
  • Strive to learn new technical information and skills through attendance of periodic in-service programs and participation in professional affiliation sessions.
  • Rotate through all diagnostic imaging modalities, sites, and/or locations.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of Radiologic Technology
  • Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (R.T.(R) (ARRT), in good standing)
  • Certification in Mammography: R.T.(R) (M) (ARRT)
  • Current state licensure (RL) required prior to employment
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
  • Successful completion of 40 hours of mammography training

Qualifications

  • Minimum qualifications: Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology, Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (R.T.(R) (ARRT), in good standing), Certification in Mammography: R.T.(R) (M) (ARRT), Current state licensure (RL) required prior to employment, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross, Successful completion of 40 hours of mammography training
  • Preferred qualifications: One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist, Physical Requirements: Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily, Personal Protective Equipment: Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required

Benefits

  • Rotates through evenings and Saturday shifts| every 3rd or 4th Saturday| evenings will be once or twice a week until 7:30pm

Pay

  • Pay Range Minimum hourly: $33.50
  • Maximum hourly: $48.50
