Responsibilities
- Counsels patients on the procedure and ensures their understanding of the examination.
- Ensures high-quality mammograms are conducted and evaluated patient history.
- Processes quality control checks and maintains accurate documentation.
- Communicates effectively with patients and staff.
- May train radiologic students and suggest process improvements.
- Ensures adherence to laws, regulations, and accreditation standards.
- Stays current with industry advancements through ongoing education and certifications.
Qualifications & Skills
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Radiologic Technology; preferred completion of a Mammography Technologist program.
- Minimum two years’ mammography experience including screening, diagnostic, biopsies, and needle localizations.
- Current ARRT in Radiography; ARRT Advanced Certification in Mammography preferred with a goal to obtain within 12 months.
- Texas MRT license and current BLS CPR certification.
- Strong time management, organizational, interpersonal, communication, and computer skills.
- Ability to perform routine to complex positioning and demonstrate patient-centered behaviors.
