About the role
The Mammography Technologist is a full-time, on-site role based in Wilton, CT.
Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality mammographic imaging examinations, including screening and diagnostic studies, following established protocols and regulatory standards.
- Prepare and position patients, explain procedures, ensure comfort and safety.
- Maintain accurate patient records.
- Operate mammography equipment, monitor image quality, adhere to radiation safety guidelines.
- Collaborate with radiologists and clinical staff to support efficient workflow.
- Auxiliary in quality assurance activities, equipment checks, and continuous improvement of imaging practices.
Qualifications
- Certification and licensing: Active American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiologic Technology, with Mammography credential preferred or eligibility to obtain.
- Technical expertise: Proficiency in Radiologic Technology and Radiology practices, including mammography techniques, image acquisition, and equipment operation.
- Safety and compliance: Strong understanding of Radiation Safety principles, regulatory standards, and quality control procedures in diagnostic imaging.
- Clinical knowledge: Foundational knowledge of Medicine relevant to breast imaging, breast anatomy, and common pathologies to support appropriate imaging practices.
- Additional qualifications: Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program, current state licensure as required; prior mammography experience in an outpatient or hospital setting is highly beneficial.
