About the role

The Mammography technologist under general supervision of the Manager of Breast Imaging provides mammographic technical skills to the Department mission. Duties include working as a technologist and performing mammography exams for diagnosis and treatment of patients of all ages.

Responsibilities

• Performs mammography exams for diagnosis and treatment of disease or injury to patients of all ages.
• Uses knowledge of principles and procedures of diagnostic radiology and mammography to operate and maintain Radiologic equipment, including mammography.
• Achieves MSRT/ARRT (M) certification.
• Communicates and interacts effectively with patients, students, and staff technologists.
• Holds a state Radiology/mammography license and meets all applicable education requirements.

Requirements

• Graduated from an approved school of Radiologic technology with at least 2 years of post-high school training.
• Completed MSRT/ARRT (M) certification.
• State Radiology/mammography license required.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to instruct students and provide technical supervision to staff technologists.

Skills

• Knowledge of principles and procedures of diagnostic radiology and mammography.
• Operational and maintenance skills for Radiologic equipment, including mammography.
• Effective patient interaction and communication skills.
