Responsibilities
- Assists in room preparedness, i.e. cleaning rooms and supply placement, to include ultrasound rooms.
- Assists Radiologist in the performance of interventional breast procedures.
- Affords patients and referring physicians information regarding patient appointment delays.
- Fulfills departmental protocols and procedures during exam performance to produce images meeting quality standards.
- Maintains adherence to work and patient schedules.
- Keeps a working knowledge of Radiology Information Systems, EPIC, and PACS (Candelis).
- Maintains a screening technical repeat average of 1% or lower.
- Maintains licensure/registry status as required by state or regulatory bodies.
- Maintains logs and documentation in accordance with departmental protocol.
- Promotes patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Maintains the physical work environment to meet departmental and regulatory requirements.
- Trains and develops students assigned to the area through clinical affiliations.
- Produces work in an efficient manner that meets departmental productivity standards.
- Provides detailed patient history and/or other pertinent information necessary for proper interpretation of images.
- Provides quality patient care as defined by departmental and age-specific standards of care.
- Reports supply shortages or equipment failures to operations manager and/or team leader.
Qualifications
- Formal training in an accredited Radiologic Technology Program.
- Valid Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) license.
- Registry or Registry-eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
- Proficient in modality physics and operation of equipment.
- Knowledge of human anatomy, pathology, and physiology.
- Demonstrates good interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Maintains Illinois State License for Radiography (LEVEL 2 JC: 2208).
- Maintains ARRT Mammography certification.
- Maintains Level 1 requirements AND proficiency in Diagnostic Examinations AND Breast Needle Localizations (LEVEL 3 JC: 3179).
- Maintains Level 2 requirements AND proficiency in interventional breast biopsy procedures (LEVEL 4 JC: 3108).
- Maintains Level 3 requirements AND proficiency in ABUS/MBI/Hand-held Breast Ultrasound OR Board Clinical Instructor OR Defined and measurable Leadership Responsibilities.
