Job Summary

The RAD Technician Mammo PRN provides performs specialized diagnostic sonography procedures and technical expertise and assistance to support ancillary personnel.

Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities

• Performs procedures as ordered and obtains images according to written protocols.
• Positions and immobilizes patient on exam table and observes during scan.
• Maintains a safe and clean environment with all the necessary supplies needed to perform studies and procedures in exam room.
• Screens and interviews each patient using designated MRI Patient Clinical Assessment Form.
• Organizes and accurately performs the individual steps in the sonographic procedures in the proper sequence.
• Reviews and evaluates computer generated information to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
• Reports equipment problems/failures to Bio-Med or Manager.
• Performs and documents quality control on equipment according to manufacture guidelines or department protocols; recognizes and takes appropriate action for abnormal results.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent from JRCERT approved school of Radiologic Technology Science.
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiology (R) and Mammography (M).
• Certified by the Texas Medical Board (TMB) as a Medical Radiologist Technologist (MRT).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) by first day of employment is required.
