Making a Difference Awards
About the Awards
The Trust hosts an annual awards ceremony and formal dinner to celebrate outstanding achievements of individuals and teams from Team UHDB who have gone above and beyond to provide exceptional care to patients. The Making a Difference Awards highlight the hard work, compassion, and excellence of local NHS staff, offering an opportunity for staff, patients, and visitors to share feedback and recognize NHS heroes in Derbyshire and Staffordshire.
Awards are presented monthly, culminating in an annual celebration evening in September that honors Team UHDB.
How to Nominate
Have you received great care at Royal Derby Hospital, Queen’s Hospital Burton, Samuel Johnson Community Hospital, Sir Robert Peel Community Hospital, or Florence Nightingale Community Hospital? Email your nomination to uhdb.employeeawards@nhs.net. Include the nominee’s name, workplace, and a short summary explaining why they deserve an award.
Selection Process
Every month, nominations are reviewed by a judging panel that selects a winner for each category. Entries are evaluated against criteria linked to the Trust’s vision and values. Winners receive a pin badge and certificate in their workplace, celebrated by colleagues.
