We are currently looking for a Make Ready Production Support/Press Operator Assistant to join our team. The role is responsible for the setup and support of printing presses in accordance with the printing specifications and customer requirements/expectations.

Responsibilities
- Comply with all company and safety policies and procedures
- Attains and maintains all defined job objectives related to the planning and execution of all jobs and quick changes
- Assists in the performance of all external make-ready operations in preparation for changeover activities (changing from one label job to another)
- Assists in the performance of all external clean-up activities following changeover
- Cleans ink pans and ancillary equipment
- Strips plates from cylinders
- Locates dies to and from the press
- May be required to work with a press operator to view labels with the assistance of a strobe light
- Comply with the quality assurance specifications of the customer and MCC
- May be required to complete the quality assurance sheet and associated documentation
- Responsible for the cleanliness of machinery and the organization of the workspace
- Responsible for working overtime when needed and as assigned
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Print shop experience helpful, but not required
- Ability to communicate and interact well with others (verbally and in written form); seen as a team player
- Ability to read and understand a job ticket
- Ability to read a ruler and understand measurements (able to pass a ruler test)
- Ability correctable to 20/20 (able to pass an eye test)
- Ability to differentiate colors (able to pass a color test)
- Ability to input data into the computer
- Ability to work in a team environment with a high sense of urgency for on-time completion of assigned activities
- Self-motivated with the ability to stay focused and follow instructions
- Ability to stand and move around the press area for long periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
