Bring your energy to Aggreko as a travel-based technician working on a wide range of projects—from large events to utility assistance and refinery turnarounds.

About the Role

You will be part of an elite technician team that installs, commissions, services, and repairs Aggreko generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC systems, and oil-free air (OFA) systems. This is a home-based opportunity located in any U.S. city with a major airport, requiring up to 75% travel.

Responsibilities

  • Install, commission, service, and repair power generation equipment, including generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution, HVAC, and OFA systems.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures on major projects and in service centers.
  • Use mathematical formulas to calculate nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals.
  • Maintain and promote safe working conditions in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Interface with a remote operations center to prevent failures and design proactive notifications for compliance.
  • Obtain and maintain required certifications (e.g., TWIC card, DOT medical card) based on customer needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 8+ years of experience working on power generators, including inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Electrical Generating Systems Association (EGSA) technician certification or similar is a plus but not required.
  • Proficiency with metering tools such as multimeters, amp meters, and hygrometers.
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or DOT medical card as required.
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 75 lbs (with specific job requirements up to 60 lbs for lifting/carrying and 80 lbs for pushing/pulling).
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, sit for prolonged periods, and navigate uneven terrain without assistive devices.
  • Functional range of motion to work safely from ground level to overhead, including climbing stairs and ladders while carrying objects (up to 15 lbs).
  • Good finger dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and grip strength for tool use and ladder safety.
  • Must pass a post-offer physical abilities assessment and meet the outlined essential physical capacities.
  • Availability to work assigned schedules, travel to work locations, and be on standby for work outside regular shifts.

Pay

Pay range: $30.00–$44.00 per hour, with a $2.50/hour travel allowance. Includes potential for overtime and/or weekend pay, plus an annual bonus program.
