About the role
The Major Gifts Officer is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major gifts from individual donors to support the organization’s fundraising goals.
Responsibilities
- Identify potential donors through research and networking
- Cultivate relationships with donors to build trust and loyalty
- Solicit major gifts from donors to meet annual fundraising targets
- Prepare and present compelling case statements and gift proposals
- Manage donor files and maintain detailed records of all interactions
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment on fundraising strategies
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in fundraising or related field
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Qualifications
- Experience working with major donors and foundations
- Knowledge of nonprofit fundraising principles and practices
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
- Proficiency in CRM software (optional)

Pay
Salary range: $50,000 - $70,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
