Major Gifts Officer

About the role

The Major Gifts Officer is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major gifts from individual donors to support the organization’s fundraising goals.

Responsibilities

• Identify potential donors through research and networking
• Cultivate relationships with donors to build trust and loyalty
• Solicit major gifts from donors to meet annual fundraising targets
• Prepare and present compelling case statements and gift proposals
• Manage donor files and maintain detailed records of all interactions
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment on fundraising strategies

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in fundraising or related field
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Qualifications

• Experience working with major donors and foundations
• Knowledge of nonprofit fundraising principles and practices
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills

• Ability to work effectively under pressure
• Proficiency in CRM software (optional)

Pay

Salary range: $50,000 - $70,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
