Major Gifts Officer

About the role

The Major Gifts Officer plays a crucial role in securing substantial donations from individuals and foundations to support the educational initiatives of the Episcopal Academy. This position requires exceptional fundraising skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and a deep understanding of philanthropic strategies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising plans to secure major gifts from individuals and foundations.
• Build and maintain relationships with key donors and prospects through regular communication and personalized outreach.
• Research potential donors and prepare compelling case statements to advance fundraising efforts.
• Manage donor files and ensure accurate record-keeping of all interactions and transactions.
• Collaborate with other departments to align fundraising goals with overall organizational objectives.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of successful fundraising experience, preferably in a non-profit setting.
• Proven ability to cultivate and steward major donors.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and fundraising software.
