About the role

This position performs unskilled labor tasks under the direction and supervision of the Supervisor and/or Crew Leader. Duties include mowing, weed eating, landscaping, minor building maintenance, and assisting with park set-up.

Responsibilities

  • Performs mowing, weed eating, landscaping, and other similar activities.
  • Performs minor building maintenance including lights, painting, pressure washing, and other basic repairs.
  • Maintains parks and facilities including restrooms, equipment, and courts.
  • Assists in set-up for City functions, chairs, tables, equipment, etc.
  • Makes sure park rules and regulations are enforced.
  • In the event of a natural disaster, reports to place of duty.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of experience in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.

Qualifications and KSAs

  • Knowledge of minor building repair and maintenance.
  • Effective communication both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to operate mowers, weed eaters, and other landscape equipment.
  • Ability to use simple hand and power tools.
  • Ability to use light machinery, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Ability to traverse all types of terrain.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
  • Ability to understand and interpret complex written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, City Staff members, and the general public.

The contribution rates for employees and employers are set by state law (approximately 9-15%). 457 Retirement Plan (Mission Square) Deferred Compensation Plan and Roth IRA – Employee contributions only.

Schedule

The position may require evening and weekend hours and may involve unscheduled overtime.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $36,789.00 - $57,022.00 annually.
