About the role
The University of Pittsburgh at Titusville is seeking a Maintenance Worker II to join their Facilities Management team. This position is classified according to Local Union No. 95-95A International Union of Operating Engineers.
Responsibilities
- Keep campus buildings running smoothly through general maintenance, repairs, and hardware upkeep.
- Care for campus grounds, including mowing, trimming, mulching, and seasonal landscaping.
- Handle snow and ice removal, by machine and by hand, to keep the campus safe in winter months.
- Perform preventive maintenance on tools, machinery, and equipment.
- Support campus events and planned outages with a flexible schedule.
- Work at heights up to 50 feet, lift more than 50 pounds, and work indoors, outdoors, and in confined spaces as needed.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Three years of experience with related building systems.
- A valid motor vehicle operator's license.
- Additional experience in building maintenance, trades, or facilities operations beyond the minimum requirement, or completion of a trade/vocational program in a relevant field (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry).
Physical Effort
Heavy physical effort required. Requires extensive standing, moving, ascend/descend, bending, lifting, and/or carrying. May be required to move objects over 50 pounds with or without assistance of equipment.
Qualifications
Preference may be given to candidates who have completed a trade/vocational program in a relevant field (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry).
