About the role
The Maintenance Worker I will be responsible for performing architectural renovations, modifications, repairs and preventive maintenance to building structures and performing all other related duties and tasks as required or assigned.
Responsibilities
- Perform architectural renovations, modifications, repairs and preventive maintenance to building structures
- Complete associated paperwork
- Work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Communicate effectively with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Work independently and as a part of a team
- Use Microsoft Office and learn department-specific computer systems as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent and 1-3 years of directly-related maintenance experience
- Demonstrated skills in general maintenance and be able to troubleshoot and repair a wide variety of maintenance problems
- Ability to complete associated paperwork and work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Highly motivated with good verbal and written communication skills
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn department-specific computer systems as needed
Qualifications
- Post-offer background check and the ability to gain and maintain access to Kirtland Air Force base (KAFB) is required

Schedule
Work hours and schedule: 2:30pm-11:00pm, Thursday-Monday, off Tuesday and Wednesday.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, crawling, climbing (ladders, scaffolds, etc.)
- Frequent lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling heavy objects that weigh up to 80 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation
- Wear personal protective equipment which may include a respirator
- Work in close proximity to an environment containing research animals
- May be required to work in areas where hazardous materials and/or infectious agents are present which may require vaccinations
