About the role

The Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing a wide variety of maintenance tasks associated with the care of cemetery gardens and facilities. This position will work under direct supervision, individually, or with a team.

Responsibilities

  • General gardens clean-up and trash disposal.
  • Clean and maintain storm drains.
  • Repair lawn damage.
  • Mow section and garden lawns.
  • Trim memorial tablets.
  • Replant landscapes.
  • Apply landscape chemicals such as fertilizers, wetting agents, herbicides.
  • Auxiliary client families and other guests with grounds maintenance requests.
  • Operate specialized equipment to move materials.
  • Auxiliary in completing interments.
  • Auxiliary in set-up and clean-up before and after special events.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in a maintenance position.
  • Valid California Driver’s License.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Caring and professional demeanor and enjoyment in helping families at a difficult time.
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
  • High school diploma/GED certification.
  • Must be able to work on-site.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Drug Testing Policy

The drug screening method is a hair collection test that will detect the use of illegal drugs within the past 90 days. A positive drug test may result in the withdrawal of the job offer.
