About the role

This position involves coordinating projects, communicating results, performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment and system malfunctions, and monitoring and regulating energy output for a utility company. The role ensures proper functioning and safety of utility systems such as water and gas lines, electrical power grids, and telecommunications networks.

Responsibilities

  • Clean, lubricate, adjust and repair machinery and equipment
  • Disassemble machinery to inspect for defects and replace compromised components
  • Study blueprints and manufacturers manuals to determine correct installation and operation of machinery
  • Perform routine maintenance activities
  • Determine if immediate maintenance action is required
  • Escort on-site contractors, vendors, guests, or visitors throughout facility as needed
  • Provide expertise in assessing utility systems in place
  • Identify all aspects of utility-related issues
  • Actively pursue own growth/career development through self-initiative practices
  • Follow regulatory agency compliance requirements, support Company and goal objectives, and contribute to department quality improvement and operating goals as an effective team member

Requirements

  • 2+ years of related industrial operations experience
  • Mechanical ability
  • Ability to learn and follow national/local standard operating procedures

Qualifications

  • Acquiring knowledge and ability in all plant operations including processes and equipment
  • Exhibits understanding of governmental regulations including environmental permitting and compliance, loading and quality assurance, basic electricity, national and local operating procedures, CMMS, maintenance management process, and all HSE issues associated with the facility
  • Performs all work in compliance with standard operating and maintenance procedures, utilizing current Life Saving Rules, Safe Start and safety requirements including safe work permits, energy control isolation, IDLs, confined space entry work, hot work, work plans, pre-job discussions, and plant safety inspections

Training

On-site training and off-site training will be provided for the equipment that is to be serviced.
