General Description
As a Maintenance Technician Trainee, you will be responsible for learning and supporting the manufacturing process by trouble shooting, preventative maintenance, and repair of all tire-related manufacturing, processing machinery and equipment. You will also be responsible for related safety and housekeeping throughout the facility.
Responsibilities
- Participate and successfully complete our Maintenance Technician Trainee program which will provide knowledge and experience in the following areas:
- Perform maintenance and repairs on a diverse range of equipment to ensure optimum operating conditions and uptime across all related crafts
- Knowledge of machine shop equipment, electronic industrial systems, PLCs, variable frequency drives, servo drives, power distribution, instrumentation, preventative maintenance, human machine interfaces, hydraulics and pneumatics
- Install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain machines and drive power distribution systems, instrumentation, hydraulic systems and pneumatic systems
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, electronic and other mechanical issues
- Interpret blueprints, sketches, maintenance manuals and manufacturing specifications
- Cut, form, thread, fit and install piping for air, water, steam, oil nitrogen, gas, and other lines
- Prepare and weld in flat, vertical, or overhead positions with multiple technologies
- Log or use computerized work order system for repair and maintenance activities performed
Qualifications
- HS Diploma/GED
- At least 18 years of age
- Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship now or in the future
- Must have sufficient credits to complete the AAS Degree in Technical Studies (Industrial Maintenance Technician), or another curriculum designated by Goodyear-Danville, within one (1) year of starting the program
- Required to lift heavy materials, climb, stand, squat, bend and work at heights with or without reasonable accommodations
- Must be able to successfully complete all pre-employment criteria
- Absorb basic computer skills
- Provide basic tools

Preferred Qualifications
- AAS degree in Industrial Systems Technology or Electrical Systems Technology, or equivalent technical degree
- Previous Industrial Manufacturing experience basic knowledge and understanding of machine technology, construction, operation of heavy industrial machinery and power/control devices
- Experience adhering to industry-specific safety standards
