Maintenance Technician, Weekend Night Shift
About the Role
As a Distribution House Maintenance Technician, you will perform routine preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on conveyor systems and related material handling equipment. Under the direction of the Maintenance Lead and/or Supervisor, you will contribute to the Maintenance Department’s objectives and goals by completing daily tasks that ensure equipment reliability and longevity. This role involves fostering a safety culture and demonstrating Under Armour’s Core Competencies.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and report any unsafe working conditions or equipment.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on all types of conveyors, including replacement of motors, reducers, scanners, sensors, and other components.
- Troubleshoot electrical controls (motor circuits, process or packaging machinery, and programmable controllers) using drawings, documentation, and required tools.
- Determine parts requirements and availability, retrieve parts, maintain parts/stock area, and submit reorder requests.
- Perform routine maintenance based on machine preventative maintenance (PM) requirements and maintain accurate records of all PM activities.
- Demonstrate understanding of PLCs, Building Management Systems, CMMS, and Vision Systems.
- Ensure all safety systems are functioning properly on all machines.
Requirements
- 2–3 years’ experience or equivalent vocational training.
- Excellent proven safety record.
- Ability to interpret schematics, mechanical blueprints, and PLC ladder logic.
- Able to operate or be trained on all MEWP, PIT, and Utility Carts.
- PC experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS); knowledge of Maintenance Connection is a plus.
- Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Warehouse Control Systems (WCS).
- High school diploma or GED preferred; 6 months warehouse experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, follow detailed instructions, and interpret technical procedures.
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- 2-3 years industrial plant maintenance technician experience, comparable to level 1 or 2, preferred.
Physical Demands
- Work is usually performed indoors but may occasionally be performed outdoors in hot or cold weather.
- Work involves proximity to moving mechanical equipment and may be performed at heights of up to 50 feet.
- Regularly required to use hands, reach with hands and arms, stand, walk, climb, and stoop.
- Frequently lift items weighing 25 to 50 pounds throughout a full shift; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds overhead.
- Comfortable working from heights (e.g., ladders, boom and scissor lifts).
- Frequent or continuous standing, lifting, walking, and bending.
- Vision abilities include depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Able to withstand temperatures in a typical warehouse environment.
Location
Must reside within commuting distance of the Sparrows Point, MD facility. No relocation provided.
Pay
Base compensation: $25.50–$31.90 USD. Most new hires fall within this range, with initial placement based on relevant knowledge, skills, and experience. Under Armour is committed to helping teammates succeed and advance in their careers.
