About the Role

The Facility Maintenance Technician performs routine buildings and grounds maintenance tasks, attends to maintenance calls, and conducts preventive maintenance. The role involves a variety of tasks including painting, drywall repair, lawn care, equipment diagnosis and repair, and other assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Safely drive shuttles over specified routes or to destinations, adhering to schedules and traffic regulations.
  • Assist passengers with entering/exiting vehicles and handling luggage.
  • Ensure passenger safety and security during transport.
  • Test vehicle equipment before each shift.
  • Maintain cleanliness of vehicles.
  • Paint and stain interior and exterior of buildings.
  • Repair damage to walls and flooring.
  • Perform various woodworking tasks.
  • Form and pour concrete for small slabs and footings.
  • Replace and fix plumbing fixtures.
  • Use Maintenance Management Software to log work performed.
  • Conduct weekly preventive maintenance inspections of facility assets.
  • Assist with facility recycling programs.
  • Occasionally assist with landscaping, mowing, snow removal, and plowing.
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance of kitchen equipment and HVAC systems.
  • Occasionally perform custodial tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Facility Maintenance Supervisor.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • Valid State driver’s license with mandated endorsements.
  • At least 2 years of facility maintenance or carpentry-related experience.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
  • Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
  • Basic computer skills (Excel, Word).
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Class D Driver’s License with an insurable driving record; preferred CDL.
  • Possess or have the ability to obtain a Special Engineer Boiler License.

Physical and Mental Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently and 75 pounds infrequently.
  • Ability to engage in physical activities including walking, standing, and working on uneven surfaces, climbing ladders and stairs, kneeling, and squatting.
  • Ability to perform duties at heights from 10-30+ feet off the ground.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions, including extremes of heat and cold.

  • Skid loaders and telehandlers.
  • Commercial cleaning equipment.
  • Computers using Microsoft Office.
  • Building Automation Systems.
