Maintenance Technician Senior (Phenix City)

This position is responsible for Operations and Maintenance of Alabama Power owned facilities and assets in the Southeast division, based out of our Phenix City, Alabama office.

About the role

Responsibilities include the repair and preventive maintenance of building infrastructure, grounds, access control systems, HVAC (Chillers), mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and related systems to provide safe and productive work environments. The technician must be self-motivated and able to work within critical areas while operating specialized equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, modify, and install equipment and systems to ensure a comfortable environment for customers.
• Perform general inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with national and local codes (NEC, OSHA, Building, Plumbing) to provide a safe, reliable work environment.
• Maintain and clean equipment rooms, related equipment, and panels.
• Maintain facility systems, including HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing (Chillers, Pumps, etc.), mechanical, and controls.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Active State of Alabama HVAC Contractors License and/or Active Alabama Electrical Contractors License (required; verification requested post-application).
• General experience and knowledge in HVAC & Controls, Electrical, and Plumbing.
• Universal Freon license.
• Vast knowledge of the following:
  • Commercial/industrial electrical maintenance, repair, and installation.
  • Electronic and pneumatic controls, equipment, and systems maintenance, repair, and installation.
  • Hydraulic equipment and systems maintenance, repair, and installation.
  • HVAC systems maintenance, repair, and installation of Chillers & HVAC equipment.
  • Relevant codes (NEC, OSHA, Building, Plumbing).
• NERC CIP Certification (required and contingent within the first 60 days of employment).
