About the role

The Maintenance Technician will assist the Maintenance Manager in performing day-to-day maintenance tasks, repairs, and preventive maintenance across the apartment complex. This hands-on role requires someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and able to handle a variety of tasks in a timely and professional manner. You will be responsible for ensuring that the facilities remain in excellent working condition and residents' needs are met.

Responsibilities

  • General Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including repairs and installations related to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building systems.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Conduct inspections and regular preventive maintenance of building systems, equipment, and appliances to ensure everything is functioning properly.
  • Repairs & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair maintenance issues promptly, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and appliance problems.
  • Facility Upkeep: Assist in maintaining clean, safe, and operational common areas, grounds, and equipment.
  • Emergency Maintenance: Respond to emergency maintenance requests as directed by the Maintenance Manager, prioritizing tasks based on urgency.
  • Work Orders: Complete and track work orders, ensuring tasks are logged and completed in a timely manner.
  • Resident Relations: Provide friendly, professional service to residents, addressing maintenance requests and concerns promptly.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow safety regulations, building codes, and company policies when performing maintenance tasks to ensure a safe environment for all.
  • On-Call Availability: Must be available for emergency maintenance requests, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to address urgent issues as they arise.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in maintenance or property management is preferred.
  • Knowledge of building systems (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, general maintenance) is required.
  • Certifications in HVAC or plumbing are a plus, but not required.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently, as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Basic knowledge of maintenance management software is a plus.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and perform physical tasks.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications or training are a plus.

Qualifications
