Responsibilities
- Provide maintenance expertise to service, repair, and maintain process and utility pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment
- Work effectively with customers (Operations), handling questions with tact and displaying good customer service
- Improve equipment uptime, line efficiency, and overall equipment effectiveness through condition monitoring, troubleshooting, and assisting in engineering changes
- Troubleshoot root causes of machine problems (e.g., excessive vibration or temperature, bearing failures, abnormal noises, and poor performance)
- Perform repairs and overhaul equipment (e.g., gear boxes, pumps, blowers, fans, and drives), including disassembly, setting tolerances, aligning, and resetting timing
- Set up equipment to design specifications (e.g., timing, leveling, alignment)
- Operate precision alignment equipment (e.g., Roma-align, lasers)
- Quickly and accurately diagnose root causes of problems and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime
- Document actions taken to repair equipment in the CMMS program
- Assist in areas outside of primary responsibility and learn other skills as required
- Work with safety as a primary focus and abide by applicable safety procedures and practices
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience
- Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis (Lilly will not sponsor work authorization or visas for this role)
- Must pass background check and drug screening requirements
Skills
- Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing English to communicate technical and business information effectively
- Experience using business software programs such as Maximo, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Good mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting and repairing equipment
- Experience using basic troubleshooting equipment such as multimeters and calipers
- Ability to work with or around equipment, climb ladders and stairs, and use personal protective equipment (PPE)
- May be exposed to harsh weather conditions, powders, liquids, and gases
Additional Information
- Overtime may be required during shutdowns, emergencies, or periods of heavy workloads
- Night shift role; will transition to a night shift 12-hour 2-2-3 schedule in the future (training period will be on day shift)
- Work in and around potentially dangerous and hazardous equipment
Pay
The anticipated wage for this position is $21.27 - $41.25 per hour. Lilly reserves the right to amend, modify, or terminate its compensation and benefit programs in its sole discretion.
Schedule
Night shift with a future transition to a 12-hour 2-2-3 schedule. Training period will be on day shift.
