About the role
This is a full-time night-shift position on a consistent 6:00 pm – 6:00 am rotating schedule. The role includes a $3 night-shift premium, a $1 weekend premium, and a $1,000 sign-on bonus.
Pay
Level 2 base pay starts at $31.50 per hour, excluding the $3 night-shift premium.
Schedule
Night shift (6:00 pm – 6:00 am) on a rotating schedule.
Responsibilities
- Assist in ensuring the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing planned and unplanned maintenance on production, packaging, and processing equipment.
- Be readily available for emergency repairs in breakdown situations.
- Accurately read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics, service manuals, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Assist in performing preventative maintenance, including conducting computerized preventative maintenance check-ups or reading SPC charts and data.
- Assist in ensuring proper function of line manufacturing support systems (line/lube delivery, chemical delivery, ingredient delivery, process systems, CIP systems, operational support).
- Accurately complete work orders in a timely manner to maintain high-quality standards.
- Maintain communication with other departments, management, and employees regarding problems or concerns that may restrict production efficiency.
- Complete all paperwork clearly, legibly, and accurately, including all required information and documenting in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Assist in maintaining parts and supplies inventory by checking parts out of inventory and assigning them to the proper work order; report low supply levels to Supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area, including the maintenance shop.
- Adhere to the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS).
- Identify Critical Control Points (CCP).
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment to perform duties.
- Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Work with dairy, nut products, and other related ingredients and allergens.
- Follow safety protocols: stop unsafe acts, obey facility safety rules, correct or report safety hazards, and support safety policies and programs.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred; Associate’s or Technical School Degree in Mechanics, Electrical, Computer Science, or Food Processing preferred. Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
- Minimum one (1) year of relevant experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred.
- Understanding of preventative maintenance programs required.
- Mechanic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical knowledge required.
- First Responder training and certification.
- Electric Lift certification as appropriate.
