Maintenance Technician, Multifamily (Floating)
About the Role
The Maintenance Technician provides support and is accountable for delivering on our commitments to our residents. This includes quality move-ins, residential satisfaction, expedited service, and personal attention to the resident. The role responds to residents' service needs and is instrumental in helping deliver superior customer service.
Responsibilities
- Prepares make-ready apartments, which may include painting, carpet repairs, cleaning, general repairs, housekeeping duties, and any necessary tasks to provide residents with a quality move-in experience.
- Responds to resident requests in a timely manner with a professional attitude.
- Maintains knowledge of maintenance functions such as plumbing, HVAC, basic electric, general carpentry skills, painting, and snow removal (if applicable).
- Maintains grounds, pools/hot tubs, common areas, and dog park amenities to keep them clean, operational, and safe for residents.
- Participates in on-call scheduling to respond to after-hours emergencies.
- Reports any maintenance concerns on vacant units, models, and common areas to the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Performs maintenance as scheduled by the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Stays knowledgeable about state, local, and federal fair housing laws.
- Attends and participates in training programs as required by Cushman and Wakefield.
- Performs all duties in a timely manner and as assigned.
- Delivers superior customer service and represents the company professionally at all times.
- Dresses per Cushman and Wakefield uniform and professional appearance standards.
- Maintains all safety procedures and safeguards company tools and equipment.
- Achieves high productivity through reliable and punctual on-site attendance, and reports any tardiness or attendance issues to the immediate supervisor.
- Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.
Requirements
- Valid Driver’s license.
- EPA 608 - Minimum Type II certification.
- CPO or local city-required certificate.
- Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to prepare and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several known variables in routine situations.
- Ability to utilize common-sense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Follows all safety procedures.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, Trade, Technical, or Vocational school education.
- 1+ years of related experience.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Regular travel between properties in varying weather conditions is required.

- Ascending and descending staircases, ladders, and/or step stools.
- Traveling outside between buildings in varying outdoor weather conditions.

- Regularly operating office machinery.
- Traveling up to 10% of the time, with varying frequency and duration.
- Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, frequently, or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.

Pay
The compensation for this position is $22.95 - $27.00 per hour, depending on factors such as geographic location, date of hire, total hours worked, job type, business line, and applicability of collective bargaining agreements. The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.
