Maintenance Technician IV 1st Shift

Cornerstone Building Brands is a leading manufacturer of exterior building products for residential and low-rise non-residential buildings in North America. Headquartered in Cary, N.C., we serve residential and commercial customers across the new construction and Repair & Remodel (R&R) markets.

Responsibilities

Duties include diagnosing and repairing complex electro-mechanical problems with manufacturing equipment, performing detailed setup on equipment, and repairing and keeping mechanical machine components in top operating condition. The role also involves troubleshooting electrical control circuits, field devices, sensors, and photo eyes, as well as maintaining and repairing pneumatic systems.

• Diagnose and repair complex electro-mechanical problems with manufacturing equipment
• Perform detailed setup on equipment including recipe changes and control adjustments
• Repair and keep mechanical machine components in top operating condition
• Troubleshoot the inputs and outputs on PLC and repair issues
• Complete projects to add electrical circuits and controls, new equipment and relocate machines
• Maintain and repair pneumatic systems including repairs of cylinders and other components
• Perform simple to complex mechanical Preventative Maintenance Tasks following instructions
• Enter all work completed in computer-based maintenance program
• Monitor and report spare parts usage including completing parts order forms
• Adjust equipment based on Statistical Process Control data and team with QA
• Train all levels of technicians in more complex tasks and skills
• Responsible for direct reports activities
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have an Associate's degree in a related field, or equivalent relative experience, and 7-10 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of and experience with Lock-Out, Tag-Out procedures is required.

• Associate's degree in related field, or equivalent relative experience
• 7-10 years’ maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of and experience with Lock-Out, Tag-Out procedures
• Able to strictly adhere to safety policies/procedures and be committed to customer quality
• Must be available for regular standby assignments; work scheduled off-hours and emergency overtime as required
• Proficient in Word, Excel, and CMMS systems
• Must be willing to attend training sessions as needed, including out of state locations
• Ability to train all levels of Technicians
• Intermediate knowledge of fabrication (ex. welding, basic machining)
• Possess strong work ethic and knowledge of intermediate troubleshooting
• Able to read printed materials, blueprints, schematics, and computer graphics
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team, including the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships employees, vendors, contractors, and suppliers
• Ability to show attention to detail in a very fast paced environment
• Bilingual is a plus (English & Spanish)
